Job Description – Residential Cable Technician Specialist

General Overview:

A Residential Cable Technician is responsible for growing the Residential Division by producing exceptional workmanship that demands praise from our customers and followers while staying under project time frames, focus on daily improvement and replicate effective techniques by teaching junior residential techs. Residential work requires and understanding of home construction and being skilled in various fishing techniques. We want our techs to set themselves apart from others in the industry and complete their work with exceptional skill. We operate by projects, and there will be an assigned project(s) to which you will be responsible for the quality, time frame and customer satisfaction. The work includes, pulling cable, mounting cable suspension systems, installing racks, terminations, and rack design.

On an average day, you will be expected to:

  1. Arrive at the office on time to pick up the truck, work order, and materials.
  2. Arrive to the customers place on time.
  3. Speak with the customer to confirm scope and expectations.
  4. Install network cables or fiber.
  5. Communicate challenges or change orders to the project manager.
  6. Exceptional clean up.
  7. Take photos.
  8. Fill out paperwork.
  9. Return the truck, materials, and paperwork to the office.
  10. Always maintaining the truck and tool organization.

What success in this position looks like:

  • Make meaningful connections with the customers.
  • Perform challenging fishes.
  • Ability to install our showcase rack designs with high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional clean up.
  • Take great photos and videos of work so we can share on social media and our website.
  • Come in under the quoted time for the project.

Skills and qualifications:

  • G drivers license
  • Highly skilled at fishing residential walls, brick, and attics.
  • Highly skilled at drywall patching.
  • Can drill outside and seal holes afterwards.
  • Passionate about great rack designs.
  • Good at estimating the remaining time on site.
  • Can describe challenges and change order requests to the customer and project manager.
  • Passionate about daily improvement.
  • Can be assigned projects of low to medium complexity, including managing a team of up to 1-3 people.
  • Can properly plan for a project.
  • Can track the time and materials used on a project.

You need to be willing to:

  1. Work hard.
  2. Work under time restraints .
  3. Work past 5pm if project runs too long.
  4. Work in attics.
  5. Work on ladders.

You will get:

  2. Most tools *Some tools required.

  4. Basic training on your first week *regardless of experience.
